These policies exist to ensure a smooth, respectful, and professional experience for both you and Delightful Designs. Clear expectations allow creativity to flourish without confusion or stress.

Studio Guidelines

Delightful Designs is happy to work across a wide range of genres and themes. However, to ensure each project aligns with the studio’s creative standards and brand values, the following content is not accepted for cover design requests:

• Occult or satanic symbolism (including ritual imagery or explicit satanic iconography)

• LGBTQ+ romantic content

• Sexually explicit content or erotic-focused imagery

• Excessively graphic gore (high-intensity blood, violence, or explicit body horror)

 

If your story contains darker themes, I may still be able to create an effective cover using an alternate visual direction (atmospheric, symbolic, typographic, or suspense-driven concepts) depending on the project.

Delightful Designs reserves the right to decline any project that does not align with these guidelines.

Scope of Work

Each project includes only the services outlined in the selected package or agreed-upon quote. Requests for additional work outside the original scope may require a separate invoice and an adjusted timeline.

Important: Delightful Designs does not modify, extend, or adapt cover or interior designs created by other designers. Services are provided exclusively for original designs created in-house.

Revisions

Design packages include up to two rounds of revisions. Revisions are intended to refine the approved concept, not to restart the creative process.

​

Additional revision rounds are available for an additional fee. Requests that involve a complete change in creative direction may be considered a redesign and quoted separately.

​

Redesigns

If a project requires a complete change in creative direction after concepts have been developed, this is considered a redesign. Redesigns are treated as a new design phase and require an additional fee and adjusted timeline. All redesigns are quoted prior to work continuing.

​

Payments

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your project and begin work on multi-step services. The remaining balance is due upon final approval and before delivery of final files or publishing.

​

Standalone services require full payment prior to work beginning.

​

Timelines & Delivery

Project timelines are estimates and begin once the intake form is completed, the deposit is received, and all required materials are provided. Delays in feedback or materials may result in adjusted delivery dates.

Delightful Designs prioritizes quality and accuracy over rushed delivery.

​

Proof Files & Final Delivery

All preview files provided during the design and revision process are watermarked and/or low resolution and are intended for review purposes only. These files may not be used for publication, distribution, or promotional purposes until full payment has been received. Once payment is complete, clients are welcome to share approved previews or behind-the-scenes content for promotional purposes.

Final, print-ready, unwatermarked files are delivered only after final approval and receipt of full payment.

​

Publishing Assistance & Account Access

Clients are responsible for completing royalty payout and tax setup prior to publishing assistance. Delightful Designs does not manage or access financial, tax, or payout information.

Pricing, royalty options, and publishing configurations are completed only after written client approval.

Fonts & Imagery

Delightful Designs assists with font selection and licensing. Fonts are licensed in the client’s name and are non-exclusive, subject to the font creator’s terms.

​

Some cover designs may include licensed stock imagery as part of a custom composite. Although individual stock elements may appear elsewhere, each cover is uniquely designed and tailored to your book. Through extensive customization and compositing, the final artwork is one-of-a-kind, and the chance of a recognizable overlap is minimal. When AI-assisted tools are used, they are employed to create or transform elements specifically for your project, ensuring the final cover remains exclusive and not reproducible by others.

Delightful Designs does not reuse or resell completed cover designs.

Use of Design Tools (Including AI)

Delightful Designs uses a combination of professional design software, licensed assets, and advanced creative tools to develop original cover and branding concepts. These tools support the creative process but do not replace artistic judgment, composition, or design expertise.

Delightful Designs incorporates AI-assisted tools as part of its professional design workflow. AI is used ethically and intentionally as a creative support tool and does not replace artistic judgment, composition, or hands-on refinement. All final designs are curated, edited, and completed by hand to ensure quality, originality, and cohesion.

Third-Party & Outside Fees

Delightful Designs is not responsible for third-party or government fees, including but not limited to copyright registration fees, ISBN purchases, platform fees, website hosting fees, or licensing costs. All such fees are paid directly by the client and are not included in service pricing unless explicitly stated.

Specialty Formats

Specialty print formats — including large print editions, hardcover jackets, and duplex covers — require platform-specific setup and are priced accordingly. These services are available only for designs and interiors created by Delightful Designs.

​

A Final Note

Delightful Designs works best with authors who value collaboration, clarity, and thoughtful decision-making. These policies exist to protect the creative process and ensure every project receives the care it deserves.
